The NEFA Tempering Valve (TTV) is fitted in the hot water delivery line to sanitary outlets. By mixing cold water with the hot water delivered by the water heater, the TTV maintains a constant, safe water temperature to these outlets. This valve is available in standard (black cap) or high performance (yellow cap) versions. PLEASE NOTE: Only the High Performance TTV (yellow cap) is recommended for solar applications.

All storage water heaters require a functioning Pressure & Temperature Relief Valve (PTR) of the correct pressure and heat rating. The PTR is a safety valve that relieves excessive pressure within the water heater. It will also discharge water before the water temperature exceeds 99 degrees Celcius in the event of a thermostat failure.

The NEFA Expansion Control Valve (ECV) is connected to the cold water supply at the inlet to the cylinder. It relieves excess water pressure created in the cylinder due to thermal expansion. Fitting an ECV is also an energy efficiency measure due to the discharge of cold water rather than hot water during the heating cycles.

The recommended installation of a PRV valve is at the connection to the dwelling at the property boundary. Alternatively, it can be installed before the inlet to the water heater or appliances. This valve’s main function is to protect fittings, appliances and water heaters by limiting the maximum delivered water pressure to the preset outlet setting of 350kPa, 500kPa or 600kPa.

The NEFA Non Return & Isolating Valve (NRI) is installed in the cold water supply to the water heater. Its primary function is to isolate the water supply to the hot water heater so that maintenance can be undertaken. Its secondary function is a non return valve to prevent backflow from the hot water heater into the cold water supply.

The Isolating Pressure Reducing Valve is a single unit incorporating the 4 items normally required for hot water installations. Incorporating the following units: • Inlet Isolation Valve • Adjustable Pressure Reducing Valve • Line Stainer • Non return Valve
