Methven Ltd is a New Zealand based, public company that celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2006. It is New Zealand's longest established tap and showerware supplier and has been manufacturing tapware since soon after the foundation of G Methven and Company in Dunedin in 1886. Today, the Methven brand hold market leading positions in showerware, tapware and water valves in both Australia and New Zealand.

In 2001, Methven successfully entered the Australian domestic water valving market through an exclusive distribution arrangement for its NEFA branded domestic water control valves. 

In 2006 NEFA Australia was created by Methven Australia Pty Ltd (A subsidiary of Methven Ltd.) to take full control of marketing, operations and distribution of the NEFA branded valves. 

In 2007 NEFA Australia formed a National Sales and Marketing team who along with an agent network will provide account and service support. NEFA branded valves will be distributed through the already established Methven Australia distribution network.  The decision to trade direct with Australian wholesalers is based on the premise that Methven can provide a better and more personal service with direct access to NEFA Australia.
